It was the last day of Iwatake and it became a great day for spring skiing and snowboarding, blessed with beautiful weather. Two snowboarders from Shiojiri City and Azumino City in Nagano said, “We always enjoy your reports! We’ve got to know each other last season and we’re enjoying snowboarding together this season!” South Slope was well-groomed and nicely melted and my skis ran well.

People arrived relatively late, although it was a beautiful Sunday. Tracks of snowgroomers were left for a long time even on South Slope, which was the most popular. I enjoyed leaving my tracks on the soft & fresh slope of Sawa Course, which is a good-out-of-the-way place.

“Ms. Aiko Uemura Junior Mogul Camp” started in front of Sky Arc at 9:45 a.m.. Children divided into 5 groups and take coach’s lessons, and they can get advice from Ms. Uemura. Mr. Daichi Hara, the bronze medalist of Pyeongchang Winter Olympics freestyle mogul, also joined in the camp.

A group of four from Azumino city, Nagano Pref., gave me the warchword, “We always enjoy your reports! Please take our photo!” It was the last day and many people gave me the watchword, including girls from Tokyo joining in the camp and the regular skiers and snowboarders. We sincerely thank you for reading our reports of Iwatake this season. We are looking forward to meeting you in the next winter!
