Hazy blue sky spread and it was a spring-like day. It was warm from the early morning and I saw some people dressing lightly at Gondola Summit Station. The granular snow was nicely firm at well groomed South. My edges worked well and skis ran well, so I enjoyed skiing fast.

The gentle southern wind was comfortable and I didn’t feel so hot in spite of strong sunshine. The third Sunday of each month is “Ski Children Day”, and children under 12 can get 1 day tickets for free. And today was the last day of this season. A father coming from Matsumoto City, Nagano Pref. with his two children said, “The children are still on the way of learning, but I’m happy to see them having fun!”

“DC PARK Camp Lesson” was in session by 3 riders, Mr.Ryuichi Kabeda, Mr. Yoshiaki Akamae, and Mr. Ryoji Fujiya at North Slope. Today, the lesson was for novice and intermediate snowboarders. Participants were listening carefully, learning the way to enter the jib items, to shift their weight, to get away, to reach high at kickers, and to land.

“9th Iwatake Kids Cup” started at the bottom area of Kamoshika Racing Course from 1:30 p.m.. All participants were kindergarten and nursing school kids. The slope had a thick layer of granular snow some some kids fell down because skis stuck in the snow. But some kids rode fast, not being afraid of gaining speed.
