Iwatake/ ◎230cm / Sunny2018.Feb.19

18021901_iwatakeGondola stopped working around 10:00 a.m. due to mechanical inspection. So I used Chuou Kousoku Lift to go to the upper area of Snow Field. Some student skiers were practicing for the “Demo skiing division”of Student Ski Competition IWATAKE, starts from Feb.25 (Sun), at Up Bahn, Big Bahn, and Kamoshika Racing Course.

18021902_iwatakeVIEW C, where powder snow was nicely firm was in good condition for skiing down because it wasn’t rough but flat. By the way, North Slope will be closed until tomorrow to remake “DC PARK”.

18021903_iwatakeThe surface of the new snow on the starting area of VIEW B was wet and soft. A party of seven from here, Hakuba village, gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports! Please take our photo!” Then, they went down the steep slope covered with big bumps.

18021904_iwatakeNorhtern Alps was always behind clouds, so it was difficult to see the whole. As the sun rose, temperature went up rapidly, which made me sweat. Melting surface of Gezan Course and Sunny Valley Course was getting rough around 11:00 a.m.. However, it was still nice to ski.
