The sunlight was soft and temperature was not rising and it was comfortable morning. Father of a family, from Hakuba, said, “I’m carrying my 1 year old daughter on my back and riding for two days. I will make my daughter ski debut next year!”
[Gezan Course]
The sky was white but I could see the ridge of Northern Alps clearly. A lady from Osaka Pref. was enjoying snowboard in HAKUBA VALLEY for a week. She said with smile, “I must return home today or I can’t get in the house…”

The slopes of South and Gezan were groomed flat and nicely soft and I could ski with speed comfortably. Especially, South was crowded with the experts and children of local racing team even it was weekday.

As I skied down to Sunny Valley, the run was melted and became soft corn snow. And as I skied down further, the run became damp and slushy at Paradise. Only a few experts was getting on the gondola and the many beginners were skiing and snowboarding at Paradise.
