Mountain-side was shrouded in the fog. The trees around the summit area were covered with frost and they looked marvelous. The gentle wind was blowing but I didn’t feel chilly because the temperature was not so low.
[South]
The slopes of Gezan, South and East were well-groomed and nicely firm. They were in good condition with 2 cm of fresh snow. However, my visibility was so bad that I skied carefully. A nine-year-old kid living in Hakuba Village was saying, “It’s the first day of my spring vacation. I’ll ski by myself until 11:30.”, and riding on the gondola among adults again and again.
[Gezan]
The fog was thin and my visibility was good at VIEW area. Sometimes, the clouds broke and the sun came out around 10:00 a.m. VIEW C and VIEW D were well-groomed and hard with 2 cm of fresh snow, it made a sound when I moved the edges of the skis.

The visibility got better when I skied down to Sunny Valley Course. The slope was melted nicely and I could enjoy skiing with speed. The layer of soft corn snow got thicker at the lower part of Paradise and it was not so bad. Front of White Plaza was crowded with skiers who are going to join in the Student Competition and people who cheer them up.
