Preliminary of the student ski competition (Demo) was held yesterday. And today, men’s semifinal was started from 9 a.m. In front of White Plaza was filled with a tense atmosphere and many people were cheering for teammates. There were many clouds in the early morning but the sun began to shine from 9 a.m. and it was ideal day for the competition.

“Combined Skiing” was held at the last half of Kamoshika Racing. The slope was groomed well and nicely firm, so the competitors were skiing down with beautiful ski tracks. (On photo 11th in men’s Preliminary, Mr. Ohashi from Waseda University Basic Ski Club)

“Short Parallel Turn” was held at the first half of Two Top and “Regulated Parallel Turn” was held at the last half. By the way, the semifinal rounds had 3 divisions, “Combined Skiing”, “Short Parallel Turn” and “Regulated Parallel Turn”. And also the areas for men’s and women’s were slightly different. It was windless and comfortable weather at the summit area. The widely groomed slope of South was nicely firm and I could make turns as I imagined. Gezan and Sunny Valley was also flat and nicely firm.
