The snow started to fall from before dawn. The dry snow was falling in the early morning in Mountain-side but it became wet at around noon. Though it was weekdays the ski area was crowded with the students and international visitors. A lot of people were enjoyed taking gondola repeatedly.

At noon, fresh snow of Gezan and South got flat and nicely firm because of many ride and I could ski comfortably. A woman from Suwa City, who was an official of “National Sports Festival”, waved hand to me and said, “I stayed after the competition and skiing in this bad weather!”

As I skied down to the bottom, snow turned to rain at the beginning of Sunny Valley. The run got damp and heavy. Many beginners were stumbled over rough snow surface and struggling to ski or snowboard.

The run of Paradise was also damp. The steep slope at the upper part was rough and difficult to make turns. The students of Ritsumeikan University, Shinshu Unversity, Chuo Unversity and other universities were practicing for “The 44th Student Ski Competition IWATAKE (Demo Skiing Devision)” start from Feb. 26 (Sun.).
