Happo-one / ◎300cm / Sunny2021.Feb.10

We had a sunny day today after the coldness stayed from the afternoon on Feb. 7 (Sun). It was cold this morning because of the radiational cooling, but was getting warmer thanks to the sunlight. The groomed slope of Usagidaira was in very good condition, so we could hear a comfortable sound while walking on the snow and raise a fluffy spray of snow everytime we turned.

The groomed slopes along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (Photo), in Skyline Course and Panorama Course were also in fine condition with the nicely firm snow. In the off-piste areas, some parts were flat and the other part had skovla made by the strong winds blowing last night.

The clouds over Ushiro Tateyama Renpo Peaks broke away at around 9:00 a.m. When I skied into the west side of Skyline course, there was much snow which almost reached the top of the fences of Rindo Course. We could see the amazing view of Northern Alps from the cliff. I could hear people talking “The mountains are so cool!” and “Very beautiful!”

The snow was packed by the wind in the off-piste steep slope from URAKURO to the upper part of Kitaone. It was still exciting to ride there with snowboards or fat skis at high speed, but we easily lost our balance when we missed edging and shifting weight.
