Happo-one / ○250cm / Snowy2020.Mar.18
Due to heavy snow at the top of the ski area since last night, the officially announced snowfall recorded 250 cm, the highest in this season! This morning the snow was falling vigorously on the weak west wind. First, I skied to Risen Slalom Course because the operation of the Alpine Quad was delayed due to snow removal.
[Risen Slalom Course]
On the groomed nicely firm snow area of Riesen, fresh snow was piled up 5 to 25 cm. And the fluffy powder is 40 to 45cm on the non-groomed area! As I skied down, fresh snow was getting wet at the last part.
[Reesen Slalom Course]
I took the Alpine Quad, which started moving about 10 minutes later, and headed to the steep slope along Kurobishi 3. About 60cm of fresh snow was piled up here! Although snow felt a bit heavy, there was little sinking and a pleasant floating feeling was obtained.
[Kurobishi]
As cheers and sprays came up from here and there, a father and son from Shizuoka Prefecture gave me the words, “We always enjoy your report! It’s the best day!” Along Kurobishi Quad, it was very comfortable with 10cm fresh snow on a moderately firm flat slope.
