Happo-one / ◎200cm / Snowy2020.Feb.08

20020801_happoThe gentle northern wind brought heavy snow silently in the upper part from last night till this morning, although the weather forecast said it would be cloudy with occasional snow! People headed for Risen, taking Gondola and Nakiyama No.3 Triple, which started working on time at 7:30 a.m. There was about 20 cm of light fresh snow in the left upper part (pictured).

20020802_happoThe soft fresh snow was over 30 cm deep on the steep slope along Kurobishi No.3 Pair. The bumps were smooth, covered with sufficient snow from the day before yesterday. I enjoyed skiing down in the soft powder snow.

20020804_happoMeanwhile, there were still large bumps along Alpen Quad. I saw people skiing/snowboarding in 20–30 cm of deep fresh snow, although some were losing their balance and falling down. The compacted snow was moderately firm, covered with 10–15 cm of fresh snow, in the southern part of Usagidaira.

20020803_happo“I’m always enjoy your report!”, a skier from Shiga said and went down with style. It was sometimes foggy but okay in Kurobishi and Skyline. It was a nice weekend with great powder snow. By the way, Shirakaba has opened at 11 a.m. and decent to the gondola bottom station is now available.
