Finally, the depth of snow reached 1 m, according to the official announcement! Light snow was falling in front of Usagidaira Terrace as of 8 a.m., while a little sunlight was coming through clouds. It felt pretty chilly at the top area of Usagidaira because of the cold westerly wind.
[Usagidaira]
The southern area of Usagidaira was groomed from top to the bottom without bushes this morning. There were patches of dry, fresh snow on the top, firm area. (See the photo.) The firm slope in the middle and bottom area was covered with 10 cm of fresh snow, which was nice.

The northern slope along Kurobishi Quad was covered with enough natural snow. Panorama Course was also covered with enough snow, including not only natural but also artificial snow. I enjoyed carving on the firmly compacted snow covered by 3–5 cm of fresh snow at Panorama Course. (See the photo.) The slope was very crowded as it’s New Year’s holiday. People were waiting 2 mins for Panorama Pair station and 1 min at Kokusai 3 station.

There are seven restaurants in Snow Plaza Sakka, which is located in the base area of Sakka. (Open 8:30 a.m. –4:45 p.m.) There are a wide variety of dishes, including Sakka Burger (1,650 yen), which is very filling; Sanzoku-yaki Curry (1,600 yen), which uses local dish in Shinshu, Sanzoku-yaki; and Ohhyokuri Nabe (650 yen), which is local cuisine in HAKUBA Happo.
