Happo One / △80cm / Cloudy2019.Dec.15

19121501_happoIt got chilly from last evening and it was snowy this morning as a high pressure area lied to the west and a low pressure area lied to the east. 3 cm of fresh, dry snow was compacted on the northern side of Panorama Course, which was firm and nice. Meanwhile, the southern side was non-compacted, covered with 3 cm of fresh snow.

19121502_happoBumps, which was blanketed with 5~7 cm of fresh snow, was placed irregularly along Alpen Quad. The ground wasn’t hard with soft bushes and light snow, which was nice. It was crowded from the morning, unlike yesterday.

19121503_happoThe area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad (in the photo), which was flat and wide, was the most crowded this morning. Fresh snow was packed and mixed, and the soft powder snow felt nice. People seemed enjoying skiing and snowboarding in a cloud of snow dust on the skier’s left side and non-compacted area along Kurobishi No.3 Pair Lift.

19121504_happoThe weather gradually improved. Regular visitors from Kansai region, who I saw last weekend, showed me skiing in a line. By the way, the third Sunday of every month from December to April is “Ski Children Day”. Children at elementary school age or younger can get 1-day ticket for free. I saw lots of families today as it was the first “Ski Children Day” of this season.
