Happo One / ◎170cm / Sunny2019.Jan.14

19011401_happoWe had great weather during three-day holiday. Hakuba Sanzan turned red at sunshine this morning, as it is called morgenrot. It was very cold due to the radiative cooling, however, there was no wind and it got nice around 8 am.

19011402_happoMy skis squeaked when I was walking on the slope to put my shoes on the skis after getting off Gondola. Trees along Alpen Quad were all white, covered with rime. The southern compacted area of Usagidaira was a bit hard because of the artificial snow, and I saw some snowball there. However, it got firmer and better as I skied down.

19011403_happoThe area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad was widely compacted and powder snow was firm there. The ski edges cut into the snow well and I enjoyed making turns as I liked. I saw advanced skiers/snowboarders threading their way through beginners and intermediate skiers/snowboarders. Skyline Course was nicely firm too, and I enjoyed gaining speeds.

19011404_happoPowder snow was nice at Kitaone No.3 Slope and Kitaone Rinkan Course. It was a great day for skiing/snowboarding and many people arrived early. I appreciate everyone speaking to me today.
