We have had warm days at Hakuba this April and the snow has been melting rapidly at Happo. The south side of Panorama Course was already closed on Apr. 21 (Sat) and Skyline Course and URAKURO were closed on Apr. 27 (Fri). The available areas are Kurobishi, Usagidaira and the north side of Panorama. Two skiers from Nagoya, Aichi Pref. said, “We always enjoy your reports. It is 15th times to come to Happo this season. We’re gonna try moguls today!”

My skis ran well and I enjoyed gaining speeds at the well-groomed slope of Usagidaira, although the granular snow had been melted from the early morning and layer was thick. As I went down the groomed southern side, some parts were barely covered with snow on the skier’s right.The bottom of moguls along Alpen Quad was uncovered and I saw the ground.

“‘Bib Pants Session’ is being held from 10am every day until the closing day! Suggested dress code is no jacket and no tie.”, said a manager of Ski Bam Syokai, which opened along the route 148 this January. For your information, you can join in it without bib pants.

There was enough snow in the area facing north along the Kurobishi No.2 Quad. The melting granular snow was made flat, which was really nice. Two skiers from Aichi gave me the watchword, “We always enjoy your reports and learn a lot from them!” This is the last report of Happo, although the ski area will open until May. 6 (Sun).  We appreciate for reading our reports of this season and looking forward to meeting you in the next winter!
