It snowed lightly just before Alpen Quad started working. However, it stopped and the sun came out on the top area. At Usagidaira, the about 10 cm of dry new snow which accumulated last night was well-groomed. I saw people gaining speed one after another on the nicely firm powder snow.

It seemed the area along Kurobishi Quad was groomed earlier than Usagidaira. There was about 2 cm of soft new snow on the wide flat slope. I enjoyed making turns, feeling the nice powder snow on the slope.

As Grat Quad started working on time for weekday, at 8:50, many people surged to the top area in order to see scenery or go to back-country skiing. I was on the same lift with brothers from Tokyo. I was able to see the Northern Alps against the blue sky to the west and a sea of clouds to the east.

Two skiers from Tokyo gave me the watchword excitedly, “We always enjoy your reports! It’s an amazing day with good quality of snow under the beautiful weather!” The wind was blowing strongly at Riesen Grat, however, the well-groomed snow at the skier’s right side was nicely soft. I would like to ski here again and again, using Grat Quad.
