Happo-one / ◎390cm / Snowy2018.Jan.24
As the weather forecast said that this cold wave would be the biggest one in this season, it brings heavy snowing!! In the early morning, a man from Tokyo greeted me and said, “I always enjoy your reports! It looks so deep powdery snow!” There was 50cm fresh snow around the summit station of the gondola and it was so amazing.
[Panorama Course]
Today, it was dim because of the thick snowing clouds and blowing a cold wind on the upper areas of the ski resort. Besides, the heavy snowfall and fogs made our visibility poor. In the beginning part of Riesen Slalom, the fresh snow reached over my knees.
[Riesen Slalom Course]
The soft and flat run of Riesen Slalom was covered with 15-20cm fresh snow. Even in the lower part like Usuba slope, the snow got just a little heavy, however the condition was still fine.

Although it was also snowing heavily in Shirakaba, Nakiyama and Sakka, I could ski much more comfortably because the wind was weak and the fogs are not thick. The lifts in the upper areas, such as Alpen Quad and Skyline No.2 were late for opening because of the heavy snow and they were still closed at 10:00 a.m.
