We had stormy days during the new year season, and the lifts and gondola could start on schedule only on Dec. 31 (Sun) and Jan. 1. However, the condition of the snow is fine, thanks to the cold weather. When I came to Panorama Course after coming down the upper part, I could make turns very comfortably.

In Olympic Course Ⅱ, a groomed steep slope, I saw many instructors of Hakuba Happo-one Ski School and Evergreen Outdoor Center. The snow was in good condition as well, so I thought it was good to enjoy the slope again and again by the gondola.

After that, I came to Kitaone Course, a non-groomed steep slope. The bumps were nicely firm and there was 2－3cm fresh snow on. The groomed slope of Sakka was also nicely firm and in good condition.

The snow in Shirakaba was as good as in the upper areas. In the flat and wide slope, I found experts practicing basic techniques among beginners. Although in the early morning, we had the soft sunlight in the mountain foot, it started to snow after 8:00 a.m.
