Gondola starts working at 8:00 a.m. on weekends.  A lot of people had already come to Gondola Base Station around 8:00 a.m. However, it didn’t get as crowded as I expected because other lifts, including Nagiyama No.3 Triple, Kokusai No.1 Pair and Sakka Kita-one Quad, have opened today. Besides, Nagiyama, Central → Shirakaba, Kita-one →Sakka, and lower area of Kokusai have been also opened. “Most area” of Happo has become “available”.

The sun cast in the middle and lower area of the slope. However, it began to snow as snowy clouds approached from the west and lied over the slope. The amount of new snow was 2-3 cm at Usagidaira. Tracks were covered with snow at Panorama Course, which was thoroughly compacted and flat.

The well-compacted course was firm and in great condition. I enjoyed carving and skiing down at high speed. Panorama, the south side of Usagidaira and the area along Kurobishi No.2 Quad were popular. Only a few people were trying non-compacted area.

Central Course (Maximum degree of incline 27°, Average degree of incline 17°), the newly-opened steep slope along Gondola, wasn’t compacted at all. Carving was difficult on the course because tracks of Powder Junkie, which was left until yesterday, were re-frozen. There were bushes in Shirakaba Slope. It may be good to enjoy the middle and upper area of the slope after a while.
