It’s been snowing. Usagidaira and Kurobishi were in great condition with the -8 degrees cold. The compacted snow was quite soft and the 5cm of the fresh snow on it was light. Some visitors enjoyed skiing in Usagidaira ski area this morning even it’s a weekday.

And how much did we get the fresh snow on the place that is not compacted…? Although a heavy snow warning has been issued, the snow was at a depth of about 25cm that is less than we expected on the steep slope along Alpen quad. However, the snow was dry and soft, so it made it easy to raise a spray of snow.

It’s been powder day for two days in a row and it made some visitors happy. People moved to the slope along Kurobishi No.3 Pair and Skyline course from Usagidaira that had many ski trails after 9:00 a.m. The fog was at the top of ski area but the wind cleared it up afterwards.

Panorama course got a good powder snow condition―soft compacted snow and 5 cm of fresh snow. Although both of Panorama Pair and the Kokusai No.3 Pair were working, the slope was so crowded that there were no lifts that did not carried people. A patrol staff said the climbing-down course from Riesen Slalom to Shirakaba area will be open if it gets snow more.
