Happo-one / △140cm / Snowy2017.Nov.25
We have had so heavy snow that I can’t believe it’s still November. Snow has lasted for over the entire day since the night before last. The amount of new snow has reached over 100 cm in an upper area of Happo thanks to little wind. The all white view spreading out before my eyes was so impressive, when I left Usagidaira terrace first thing in the morning.
[Usagidaira]
Panorama Course was opened firstly. The northern area along the Kokusai No.3 Pair Lift, which was well-compacted, was in good condition for skiing with 10-15 cm of new snow on soft and flat base. The southern area along the lift was also compacted. There was over 80 cm difference in snow level between in the area and the side of the course, and there was over 100cm of new snow in the rear of the slope.

Alpen Quad was delayed by 1 hour due to an avalanche inspection. People inevitably gathered in Panorama Course because both Usagidaira and Kurobishi Slope were inaccessible. There was a long line of people waiting for the Gondola to be open, snaking its way near to a rotary.

Although it continued snowing, a little sunlight sometimes shone and I sensed signs of the improving weather. I couldn’t enjoy powder snow in Usagidaira and Kurobishi because I didn’t have enough time, however, it is needless to say that they were great.
