The fine snow started to fall from this early morning and the groomed south area of Usagidaira was covered with 2cm fresh snow. I met a high school student and he said, “I am from Nagoya City in Aichi Pref. actually, but I entered Hakuba High School and I live here now. I have seen Snownavi since I was a student of a junior high school!”

As I skied down from Usagidaira to Riesen Slalom, the firm slope got harder and harder. In Usuba Area, hard snow ball were on the slope and edges of my skis did not work well.

However, many university students were practicing skiing with high-speed wide turns toward “Happo Student Technical Competition” (until Feb. 10). It was getting colder gradually and it made us have a feeling that the biggest cold wave in this winter would be coming.
