Finally, it’s Powder Day! There was a heavy snowfall last night and it was still snowing heavily in a fog this morning. People who were waiting for Alpen Quad to start working at 8:15 seemed excited before they started skiing. Later, they skied down the non-compacted area as if they were competing.

The amount of fresh snow was about 35cm on the steep slope along the Alpen Quad. I felt a little weight, however, I could ski down very smoothly as if I were floating. I was very excited at the first powder snow in a long time after the yesterday’s surprising melting. I heard people shouting with joy in many places.

The area along the Kurobishi No.2 Quad and the south side of Usagidaira were compacted. There was about 5cm of fresh snow on the flat and soft foundation and I could ski easily. It was very crowded as it was three-day weekend, however, there was almost no waiting time for working lifts and the operation went smoothly. In addition, Skyline Course have become available at 11:00 am.

In front of the Usagidaira Terrace, a test ride event of 4FRNT (4 front) is held for two days, today and tomorrow, under the auspice of Powder Station. A staff said “please try on the day like this!” It costs only 1,000 JPY and you can change skis as many times as you want, so it’s very economical. (＊Thank you for speaking to me a lot this morning.)
