Hakuba Norikura / ◎315cm / Partly Cloudy2022.Mar.15
The rains falling overnight began to dissipate around 8:00 and were soon followed by blue skies. However, occasional drops of rain could be felt, carried by the persistent strong winds. Morning temperatures were even warmer than yesterday, and the strong sunshine had me on the verge of breaking into a sweat while simply standing still.

Even with consistently warm and pleasant weather continuing since 3/7 (Mon.), the official snow report shows the base to be a whopping 195cm more than the same day last year, thanks to this season’s abundant snowfall. The groomed runs across the resort all featured similar spring-like snow conditions that made for easy and enjoyable skiing.

I spent some time talking with a snowboarder from Nara Prefecture who told me, “I love your site. I’m a big fan of this THE DAY. HAKUBA board, and find it really easy to handle. I’m also enjoying the empty slopes, and getting some great practice runs in at my own pace.” By the way, the particular model of snowboard is the Hakuba Goryu 158cm.
