Hakuba Norikura / ◎275cm / Light Snow2021.Jan.10

21011001_hakunori“We’re checking your website! There’s not much new snow, so we’ll explore the groomed runs today. Anyway, there are less people today. Hope more people will check your website!”, two local snowboarders from Otari village said. It was snowing heavily in the Satomi Chuo area as of 8 am.

21011002_hakunoriThe groomed runs were great today, as the two snowboarders said. The powdery snow was soft on all the groomed runs, except for Sky View Slope, Snake Course, and Expert Course. No.10 Pair Lift service was delayed for inspection this morning.

21011003_hakunoriHakuba Norikura Ski School is offering a special lesson, 2021 Hakunori Special Demo Camp, during this three-day holiday. There were two instructors; Mr. Hitoshi Matsuzawa (the second skier on the right in the photo), a SAJ national demonstrator belonging to Hakuba Norikura Ski School, and Ms.Seika Matsuzawa, who won nine consecutive technical skiing championships from 2002 to 2010.

21011004_hakunoriI saw Mr.Takuma Oike, who is a Patagonia Skiing Ambassador and runs a lodge in Satomi area. “Hi, how are you? I’m giving a lesson to my regular visitor’s children”, he said. He is a top-level skier at home and abroad. What a great opportunity it is! I wish I could have joined them.
