Hakuba Norikura / ○80cm / Cloudy2020.Mar.06

20030601_hakunoriIt was pretty cold with the gentle northern wind blowing in the early morning. However, the wind calmed down after the slope opened. I went to Skyview Slope to enjoy the powder snow. The snow was rough but soft as the slope is unaffected by northern wind, facing south. I enjoyed skiing in the soft snow which was covered with 10~15 cm of heavy fresh snow.

The snow surface gradually became rough because of the ski tracks. I saw many people heading for the self-responsibility area (pictured) on the western side of No.10 Pair Lift to enjoy the fresh snow. Satomi side slope (Satomi Chuo, Satomi One, Satomi Wakaguri Access Line), including Skyline, will be closed this weekend on March 8 (Sun).

20030603_hakunoriThe wet compacted snow felt soft in Satomi One Course, Satomi Chuo Slope, and Wakaguri Rinkan Course (pictured). “I look forward to your reports! I’ve been staying for two days here. I’m glad that I can ski in this soft fresh snow.”, a man coming with his daughter from Wakayama prefecture said.

20030604_hakunoriThe non-groomed snow was smooth in the upper area of Highway Course, although the snow layer was partially thin. The snow was nicely soft in the lower area of Highway Course and Kamoshika Course (pictured). Some bushes were exposed in the bottom area of Kamoshika Course but they were okay.
