We sometime had the sunlight in the early morning, but the clouds came up and the sky got overcast around 10:30 a.m. The staffs from VEX, a snowboard shop, greeted me in Hakunori Family Course. They had “Snow Skates” in their hands.

While Snow Skate has similar features as a skateboard, a board for snow is attached on the back instead of rollers. The way of riding is almost same as skateboarding. They said that a gentle course like Hakunori Family Course is good for snow skating.

Wakaguri Central slope was not groomed but still flat. The course led toward Alps No.5 Pair and some bushes were exposed in the lower part. The ungroomed slope along Alps No.4 Pair was covered with 15cm damp snow. I met mainly beginner and intermediate snowboarders and groups taking ski lessons.

The lower parts of  High Way Course and Rabbit Course were still not open but I found the snowfall was 40－50cm when I dug the snow. By the way, it is forecast to be snowy from tonight. We hope it will be good snow and the all slopes will be open.
