Hakuba 47 / ○190cm / Sunny2020.Mar.31

20033101_goryu47It was a great day for spring skiing and snowboarding. It was chilly in the early morning due to the radiative cooling, however, it got warm by the time the resort opened. The eastern sky was hazy, while the sky was blue in the west. Ushiro Tateyama Mountain Range, including Mt. Goryu (pictured left) and Hakuba Sanzan, looked magnificent.
[Upper Area of Route1]
20033102_goryu47The corn snow was hard in Route5, which gets little sunshine. I enjoyed gaining speed in the upper area of Route1 (pictured), although the firmly groomed corn snow was getting loose. The snow was hard on the way to Route6, while it was nicely firm in Route6.
[Upper Area of Route1]
20033103_goryu47I saw many people taking Line-C and skiing & snowboarding down the upper area of Route1 again and again. The corn snow was getting loose in the lower area of Route1, which gets plenty of sunshine. The snow was firm in the shady middle area, while it was loose and wet in the sunny lower area.
[Upper Area of Route1]
20033104_goryu47The groomed snow was getting wet when I went to Panorama Course, which is located at the top area, and the upper area of Route8 (pictured) around 9 a.m. The snow was melting relatively slowly and hard in the lower area of Route8 because the area gets little sunshine. For your information, all shuttle bus services from/to Hakuba Goryu & Hakuba47 will be stopped from tomorrow for this season. By the way, thank you very much for reading our reports this season. See you in next season!
