White Day was cold and snowy since the daybreak as the weather forecast said. Alps Daira Slope was covered with about 2 cm of fresh snow. Toomi Slope opened from 7 a.m. for sunrise skiing and snowboarding. Goryu Telecabin started working on time and Grand Prix Course got crowded at once.
[Grand Prix Course]
The granular snow melted and got loose yesterday, however, it was compacted and refrozen today. It was difficult to keep my ski edges glipping in the hard snow. “The snow is hard!” “I’m scared…”, some beginners were saying. Meanwhile, advanced snowboarders were snowboarding dynamically.
[Grand Prix Course]
I skied down Dynamic Course (pictured), Woody Course, Toomi Slope and Powder Snow Course. The compacted granular snow was firm, covered with 1~2 cm of fresh snow, like the snow in Grand Prix Course. The snow was smooth in Dynamic Course and I enjoyed carving turns.
[Champion Dynamic Course]
Toomi Slope was very crowded, while Iimori Slope was empty. Powder Snow, Soft Cream and Maryland Course were covered with much artificial snow, although the ground was partially exposed. I think it’s a great place where you can concentrate on your practice. For your information, it’s “Ski Children’s Day” tomorrow!
