Goryu&47 / 〇75cm / Sunny2019.Dec.29
We had little snow between Dec, 7 (Sat) and 26 (Thu) throughout Japan, thus the amount of snow is less this year than last year. Goryu47 started operation on Dec, 6 (Fri) and most of the courses became available on Dec, 14 (Sat) (※Only some courses were open between Dec, 18 and 20, though.) It was a clear morning with no wind and I saw the beautiful red mountain and sky, which is called morgenrot.
[Distant View From Hakuba Goryu Ski Slope]
Over 40 cm of fresh snow which we had last night was compacted at the upper area, including Panorama, Route8, Route4~6, Grand Prix Course (photo), and Super Course. Many people came early today and Toomi No.1, 2 and 3 parking lots were already full at 9 a.m.
[Grand Prix Course]
Grand Prix Course was widely compacted as it’s the best season. The wide, flat slope was covered by firm compacted snow, which was great! My skis ran smoothly and the edges dug into the snow. I saw a snow compactor at the closed Dynamic Course. I guess Gezan Course is almost ready to open.
[Grand Prix Course]
Ushiro Tateyama Mountain Range, including Hakuba Sanzan and Mt. Goryu, looked magnificent. I enjoyed gaining speed in the rime. There were ups and downs on the soft, non-compacted snow at Technical Course and others. Thank you for having a chat with me this morning as usual.
