It had snowed heavily since last night. The wind blew harder and harder due to a strong winter atmospheric pattern, which caused a delay of Telecabin this morning. There were lots of skiers and snowboarders, including a party of four from Hakuba Village, in Toomi Slope, which was open early morning.

Since powder snow at the upper area of the slope was unavailable then, I headed for steep slope along Cosmo Four Lift. The lift had not been working 30 minutes before Cosmo River Course, which had 25-30 cm of new snow, got filled with tracks. After that, people were trying the edges of the course in order to enjoy the area in which no tracks were left.

Snow Diving Course, which has an inclination of 32° at maximum and 27° on average, got rough in a short time as snow driven together by carving. However, I comfortably enjoyed the course because lumps on the base were not hard and they were covered with dry snow.

The sun sometimes broke through the clouds and shone down. A party of two belonging to Osaka Kyoiku University talked to me, saying “Hi, please take a photo!” They were enjoying powder snow before they started practice with others on the final day of a training camp, which began on Dec.28 (Tue). By the way, the Gondola started working at 9:00 am.
