Goryu&47 / △105cm / Snowy2017.Dec.02
The temperature was +1℃ and the amount of new snow since yesterday was 3-5cm at Toomi Slope. It was not so cold and the amount of snow is not so much. However, at Alps Daira, it was chilly with the temperature reaching -6℃ and there was as much as about 25cm of new snow! I skied down at high speed from Panorama Course, which was well-prepared, to Grand Prix and Technical Course, which were non-compacted.
[Panorama Course]
There was soft powder snow in the non-compacted area under Alps Third Pair Lift, which was shrouded in fog. I enjoyed a floating feeling, although the course was a little bit rough. The quality of snow was attracting a stream of excited skiers.
[Grand Prix Course]
There was great powder snow in Technical Course as well. Although there were lots of tracks, I fully enjoyed skiing down at high speed thanks to the soft new snow and base. I also enjoyed beautiful rime shrouding the upper area of the slope.
[Technical Course]
There are not so many ski resorts with over 100 cm of snow at this time of the season. So the slope got crowded around 9:30 and I had to wait for a few minutes at the Alps First and Third Pair Lift. The first parking lot had already been full 30 minutes before opening. About 80% of the second parking lot had also got full before 10:00 am.
