Congratulations! Hakuba 47 is finally “all available” (*except for route 4). Gondola started the operation at 8:50 because the course-check was delayed due to heavy snow. People who were looking forward to powder snow in upper areas skied down Route 5 quickly and formed a line at Line-C stop.

The leading group who got off Line-C went to Route 2 and started to ski down the glassy slope with shouts of joy. The amount of snow was over 70 cm (!) and I felt a little bit heavy. I was almost stuck unless I skied down at high speed without sharp turns.

However, the powder snow was great and fresh. I enjoyed a floating feel without a bottoming touches. Advanced skiers went down route 2 quickly, again and again, using the Line-C. The amount of snow on route 3, which was one of the steepest slopes in Hakuba47, was about 70cm. They were enjoying skiing with smiles, although the goal area seemed difficult.

Groomed upper areas of the Route 1 had already got rough with many tracks. However, I had no problem for skiing down. Three people from Tokyo, Aichi, and Nara kindly spoke to me “we read your report twice a day in the morning and daytime!” I also thanked other many people who spoke to me! The lower area of the Route 1 was open at 9:50 am. It was hard for skiing down with about 40cm of rough new snow.
