Last night, we had a heavy snowfall. The amount of the snow reached 60cm in the upper parts of the ski area and Hakuba Goryu Ski Area has been pre-open today! Now, only Panorama Course is available, however, the wide fresh slope of 100% natural snow without any bushes made me excited.

The dry and soft snow is groomed and my skis ran and worked well. Tele-cabin started the operation at 10:30 a.m. and soon after that, people came down one after another. However, the ski area announced that it would be open just before its opening, so it was not so crowded in the early morning..

About 2-piste-crawler-wide part was groomed and others were not. Although the depth of the fresh snow was 55－60cm, the stones are still not covered with snow completely until the snow amount reaches 100cm.

The first posing photo in 2017-18 Winter of Goryu is people from Hakuba. By the way, the pre-open lift prices were JPY1,800 for an adult and JPY900 for a child only today. From tomorrow, an adult 1-day pass is JPY2,500 and a child 1-day pass is JPY1,350.
