It rained in earnest last night. Inspections were carried out carefully in the upper area of the course, the area around No.3 Quad and Warabidaira this morning, being alert to the danger of avalanche. People waiting for No.2 Quad in a line were all visitors from foreign countries except for a reporter in the early morning! Japanese people came later probably because of the forecast for rain.

I really enjoyed skiing down on the wet snow at Ikenota, Hieda Forest, and Mt. Hieda Ridge, which were well-groomed. It was warm today with the sunshine shining down. It was too hot for me to wear clothes as usual. The strong wind blowing at the upper area of the slope made me comfortable.

Mt. Hieda 1 was really fun. Although it was non-groomed, it was flat because of the last heavy rain and there was about 2 cm of wet snow on it. When I stood, I sank about 5 cm. However, it was not as heavy as I was stuck and nice to ski down. I enjoyed skiing with the unusual feeling.

A party of two coming from Tokyo said, “I usually read your reports. We’ve enjoyed skiing at Cortina since yesterday. Mt. Hieda 1 was good, and Rabbit Course was really good as well.” By the way, there were tracks of rain left at Sneak Course. It was a strange site but beautiful.
