We had the first frost and ice of the year in Tsugaike Nature Park this morning. It was only 15 degrees even in the daytime, so you had better bring your jacket. The trail was dried up in the weak sunshine in the morning.

More and more leaves turned red and yellow this time than last time. About 60-70 % of leaves have already changed their colors. I guess they will peak within the next few days. The Northern Alps, Watasuge Marsh, and Ukishima Marsh looked colorful. Autumn was just around the corner.

Some Nanakamado leaves were dull red and some were dead probably because of the short sunlight hours and reduced rainfall in mid-September (pictured). Dakekanba trees have already shed leaves, which made me feel autumn in the air.

I couldn’t help looking back because the scenery was magnificent. “What a nice view!”, someone said. By the way, you can have a night BBQ in Yuki-no-Hiroba YETI at the mountain foot until the end of October. (*Booking required.
