Tsugaike Nature Park / Cloudy & Rainy2020.Jul.14
This year, we are having unusual rainy days much more than the past years. During these 10 days, it is reported that the rainfall reached 200% (207mm) of the usual year’s amount in Otari Village, 364% (625.5mm) in Kamikochi and even in Mt. Ontake, it jumped up to 514% (1,259.5mm). At this time, we will report the trekking to Hakuba Oike Alpine Lake on July 13th (Mon).
[Ropeway Summit St.−Tenguppara, Trail to Hakuba Oike]
We could see Maizurusou, Gozentachibana and Iwakagami in the forest between the summit station of Ropeway and Tenguppara. Around the marshs of Tenguppara, Iwaicho, Watasuge and Akamono were blooming. When I was trekking in the east face of Mt. Hakuba Norikura, the white fresh flowers of Urajironanakamado and Chinguruma (Photo) were very impressive.

Some parts in the forest were still muddy, but the east face of Mt. Hakuba Norikura (Photo) where is covered with various rocks was already dry enough. However, I found an unstable rock as big as a man, so I chose the route to trek carefully.

There was still remaining snow on the trails for 20 meters before Tenguppara, 5 meters in the beginning of the east face of Mt. Hakuba Norikura and 50 meters in the end of the east face (Photo). Most people did not take crampons, but the surface of the snow was slippy and not firm, so some of them slipped often.
