Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny2020.Jun.16
The best season of Mizubasho (Skunk Cabbage) has almost come to Mizubasho Marsh in Tsugaike, where the flower starts to bloom most slowly in the main island of Japan. Around Mizubasho, the trees and marshes are getting into deeper green and telling the beginning of Summer. I could see no snow on the wooden walkway in Mizubasho Marsh.

I found more flowers of Mizubasho around the walkway of Northern Alps side especially and the plants were very fresh even in close look as the photo. Ryukinka which has bright yellow petals is also in a good season to see. I could find Kinugasaso, Sankayo, Takanezakura and Shiraneaoi as well.

Much more people visited the nature park yesterday and today than the last week and they enjoyed taking photos of the beautiful flowers. By the way, 70% of the path between Mizubasho and Watasuge Marsh was still covered with remaining snow.

Many Mizubasho were also blooming just before Kusugawa River in Watasuge Marsh (Photo). When I looked into the marsh from the wooden path, I found small flowers of Watasuge. Today was a good day to take a walk around due to the comfortable weather. The temperature was 20 degrees at 10:30 a.m. and the sunshine sometimes got softer with the clouds in a hurry.
