It rained on and off from Sep.28 (Sat) till the morning of Sep.29 (Sun). Despite that, a group of kids (in the photo) coming from Echoland in Hakuba were full of energy! After a while, the weather cleared up and the sunlight came through the clouds in the eastern sky.

Not only children but also parents seemed excited. For your information, Amidasu is usually crowded from the morning. Instead, I recommend that you visit Tobidasu and Kabedasu to start your day off.

“Autumn Leaves Festival” is being held at Tsugaike Nature Park (Sep.28 ~ Oct.6). A cute little girl, who was pounding rice cakes with her father, was drawing attention at rice pounding event held in front of Tsugaike Sanso from 11 a.m. By the way, post cards are distributed to the first 200 visitors at the Gondola ticket office by Oct. 4 (Fri).

More and more leaves are changing color day by day. About 60 ~ 70% of leaves and trees have already changed color by Sep.30 (Mon). I was impressed with the autumn colors at Mizubasho Marsh and Watasuge Marsh this morning. The temperature was +21℃ and I soon got sweaty, although it was cloudy.

The red of Nanakamado was standing out among the yellow leaves and the white trunks of Dakekanba on the slope of the Northern Alps. “I guess the autumn leaves will be at their best around Oct.5 (Sat).”, a staff member at Visitor Center said.
