More and more leaves were changing color today compared to yesterday. I was especially impressed with the autumn leaves at Ukishima Marsh, which was much more fantastic than I expected (shown in the photo). It’s been sunny these two days and there were many visitors, event though it was a weekday.

About 30% of plants and trees had already changed color in the park. The purplish red of Kuromamenoki and the dark red of Iwashobu was standing out in the plants in the marsh. I also found trees changing color on my way from Kusu-gawa River to Ukishima Marsh.

The temperature was perfect, +21℃ at Tenbo Marsh around 11 a.m, although the sunlight was strong. A panoramic view of the Northern Alps, which spread out before my eyes, was amazing. People were impressed and taking photos with Hakuba Sanzan in the background. Then, they were taking a break, enjoying the magnificent mountain view.

The seed of Gozen Tachibana was bright red on the route between Yase Ridge and Ukishima Marsh (shown in the photo), although many plants and trees were still green. I also found seed of Kurotsuribana on my way from Mizubasho Marsh to Watasuge Marsh.

The slope in the direction of the park entrance was still green. Trees and leaves are slow in changing color this year and it’s not the best season for autumn leaves yet. Actually, about 80% of leaves and trees had changed color about this time last year.
