The trail from Ukishima Marsh to Yase Ridge and Tenbo Marsh was under repair construction from last year, Oct. 26 (Fri). The wood deck at Tenbo Marsh has also been renovated as shown in the photo. It was cloudy on my way from Gondola Chukan Station to Sancho Station this morning. However, it cleared up at the upper area and I got a fine view of the Northern Alps.

The steep spairs at Yase Ridge, which used to be uneven in height, have been repaired and now it is easy to go up (as shown in the photo). For your information, the western direct route from Mosen-ike Pond to Tenbo Marsh is still closed due to the remaining snow. If you would like to go to Tenbo Marsh, take the route from Mosen-ike Pond to the eastern edge of Yase Ridge to Tenbo Marsh, following the signs of “bamboo + pink ribbon”.

Shirane Aoi flowers (shown in the photo) were at their best on the southern slope of Yase Ridge where the breeze felt nice. Mitsuba Ouren, Okamenoki, Murasaki Yashio Tsutsuji and cherry blossoms were also in bloom (※Yama Zakura started falling though) and I fully enjoyed the beautiful flowers.

The sunshine was strong and I soon got sweaty. However, the wind blowing over the snow felt nice. The snow has rapidly melted and the ground has thawed between Mizubasho Marsh and Ukishima Marsh. I have found new holes everywhere for the last five days.

I saw Mr. Inomata, who is working at Tsugaike Visitor Center, on my way back. “Be careful when you walk on boardwalk as you may get stuck into snow. The snow must melt rapidly if we have rainy days from tomorrow as the weather forecast said. Then, the boardwalk will be easy to walk on by next weekend (6/15~).”, he said.
