Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny2018.Oct.31
The strong wind delayed the gondola’s start by one hour. At 10 a.m. at Tugaike Nature Park, the sun was repeatedly hiding behind the clouds. You could even feel snow powder blowing from the west, even though the sky was blue to the north. There was 5 cm of fresh snow on the wooden trail, on top of the previously accumulated snow.

It started snowing just like it was winter as the clouds gradually got darker and thicker. The wooden trail from Ushikima Marsh and Yase One towards Tenbou Marsh just finished maintenance on Oct. 26, so it was an easy walk, even with snow up to your ankle.

Cute looking seeds of larch were falling on fresh snow. You could also see many seeds of Abies mariessi which is sure sign for this plants preparing for next spring. Tsusgaike was named after this plant!

It was fun to walk on fresh snow to Observation Marsh, but as the snow fell harder at 11 a.m., the northern Alps was finally covered by dense fog. I took a short rest to keep my body temperature warm, but then I turned back.

Maintenance of Wooden trail of Yase-One was beautifully done and really made it easy to walk. Oct. 31 was the last day of Tsugaike Nature Park for this season. We thank you for reading our reports and looking forward to seeing you all next spring.
