Tsugaike Nature Park / Sunny 2018.Jun.04
The temperature had risen significantly since yesterday. I didn’t need a jacket this morning. Rather I felt comfortable in a thin long-sleeved shirt. Following the pink ribbon from the entrance of the park, you can go to the center of Watasuge Marsh, which is only accessible during this season. A lot of Mizubasho (skunk cabbage) was blooming in a big hole in the side of Kusugawa River.

There was still plenty of snow left beside Kusugawa River. The sound of the flowing river was nice. There was already a strong bridge across the river and I could cross safely. However, the portable toilets had not been built yet. So, toilets beside Tsugaike Visitor Center was the last one available before entering the park.

I climbed to Yase-one, walking on the snow. I could get the whole view of the park, when I looked behind on the open slope just before Mousen-ike Pond. Sunglasses was necessary because there was a lot of glare. There were still many snows were left but the slope of the Northern Alps was getting greener and I felt the summer is just around the corner.

There were no snow on Yase-one and I could see many alpine flowers. Shirane-aoi (in the photo) was at their best at the southern steep slope, where there was a gentle wind blowing up. I saw Koiwa-kagami and Mitsuba-ouren blooming at the steep stairs and Okamenoki and Murasaki-yashiotsutsuji around the observatory.

The remaining snow was firm, and it was easy to walk on the flat area. The downward slope was slippery so I need to walk slowly. Please be careful with the areas at which the boardwalk was covered with snow. I accidentally stepped on the gaps in the middle twice while I walked around the park.
