Tsugaike Nature Park / Cloudy & Sunny2017.Jul.15
The second report of Hakuba Oike Big Pond in this season. The sky got overcast at around 8:00 a.m, but we could see the blue sky sometimes. There was still much snow on the trails this year, and I walked on the snow twice from the nature park to Tenguppara.

Because of the rain yesterday and melting snow, some parts were slippy and muddy, but all of the summer trail is open now. In Tenguppara, the wooden paths were exposed completely and I found Chinguruma, Watasuge and Nikkokisuge around my feet. After that, it got foggy thickly after 10:00 a.m.

One of the hardest parts now, the trail in the east face of Mt. Hakuba Norikura was almost covered with the snow still. The elevation gap from the bottom to the top is 200 meters high and the slope is steep, so it is better to have crampons.

After passing the summit of Mt. Hakuba Norikura, the fog broke up and we could see Hakuba Oike Big Pond. The surface of the water was light blue because of the sunlight and it looked to be shining. By the way, I walked on the snow twice again in the trail along the pond.
