Tsugaike Nature Park / Rainy & Cloudy2017.Jun.01
On June 1 (Thu), Tsugaike Nature Park has started the summer operation. Regarding Tsugaike Panorama Way, the gondola was open at 8:00 a.m. and ropeway was open at 8:30 a.m. Tsugaike Visitor Center was also reopened after renovation and an Italian wood stove made by PIAZZETTA was newly installed in front of the information desk.

There are touchscreens, a theater and a library in the center and you can learn about the weather, geological features and vegetation of the nature park. Besides, visitors can enjoy bouldering and slacklining there and take a rest at the rest space with drinks and foods. (Use of the facilities is free. Extra rental fees are required for bouldering)

It was dazzling in this early morning but stopped and then, the sky was overcast. On the same day in the last year, the wooden paths were exposed already, however, the marshes were covered with snow in this year. The amount of remaining snow was about 120cm in the side of the entrance and 200cm in the inner part. We could walk on the snow comfortably because the snow was firm well.

In the west part of Mizubasho Marsh, Mizubasho started to bloom with the white flowers. I could find some flowers of Ryukinka and Shojobakama as well. It seemed to be still a bit far to welcome the flowery season (“Mizubasho Festival will be held on June 23－25).

I did not got better after that and it got foggy at around 10:00 a.m. because of the temperature gap of the snow and the air. The opening ceremony started at 11:00 a.m. and Yomogi-mochi (Rice cake with mugwort) was treated to visitors.
