I was going in clouds during on Riesen Quad Lift, but the weather was fine and the clouds got away at Happo Nature Trail. It has been sunny for these 3 days. Although the rainy season has begun on June 11th (Thu), the seasonal rain front is still far from Hakuba and the weather remains good as forcasted.

We could see almost the same flowers as the last report along Ridge Trail, such as Harurindo (Photo), Miyamaazumagiku, Kijimushiro and Yukiwarisou. More and more snow is getting melted, so the lower part of Broadwalk was open today. There is no snow on the trail between Cairn No.2 and Happo Cairn as well (First Photo above).

The “cap of snow” on Happo-ike Pond had cracks. It was cooler than yesterday and the air was very fresh due to the temperature kept around 10 degrees even at 10:00 a.m. Almost all of people who I met in this morning were climbing toward Mt. Karamatsu, so I hardly saw someone taking a rest around Happo-ike Pond.

The 2 guys from Tochigi and Nagano Prefecture told me, “We met this morning while trekking. We decided to climb up to Mt. Karamatsu together!” By the way, some parts of the trail between Shakujii Cairn and Cairn No.2 were still muddy, but the route to Cairn No.3 was dry and good to walk.
