Ontake 2240 / ◎120cm / Snowy & Cloudy2020.Feb.08

20020801_ontakeSki slopes in high land are in good condition as usual, although it’s unusually warm with a little snow this season. Ontake 2240 Ski slope is located at 1,680 ~ 2,240 m above sea level. Eight courses are now open and the snow is about 120 cm deep. The snow was compacted in all courses this morning.

[Central Course]

20020802_ontakeThe firm snow was covered with about 1 cm of fresh snow in Central Course and Paradise Couse. I enjoyed carving turns in the wide courses. There are 3 m PVC pipes and 4m kickers in Snow Park, which is located in the bottom part of Central Course.

20020804_ontakeThe ups and downs were fun in Karamatsu Avenue Course, although it is gentle. My skis ran smoothly in the firm snow. The course was crowded with beginners. It started snowing lightly around 9 a.m. but it calmed down around 11 a.m. I could see Mt.Ontake (3,067 m above sea level) about noon.

20020803_ontakeThe hard compacted snow was covered with 1~2 cm of fresh snow in Expert Course. It was easier to ski down than I had expected, although Expert Course has an inclination of  35° at macximum and  23° on average. Poles were set up for an event in Mikasa Wing Course (※1,000 yen for entry for general visitors). For your information, Karamtsu Pair (641 m), No.5 Quad (1,183 m), and No.7 Hood Quad (800 m) are working this season. (※Gondola is out of service.)
