Hakuba Iwatake / △90cm / Snowy2020.Dec.18
Hakuba Iwatake Snowfield started opening for the 2020 season! The nicely inclined East Slope and the wide South Slope (pictured) were open today. It was snowing lightly in the sunshine this morning.
[South Slope]
The snow was firmly groomed in South Slope. I saw some bushes in the upper and middle areas but I did not care. “We’re taking a day off today. We had fun in Goryu yesterday and in Iwatake today.”, two skiers coming from Osaksa said (pictured).
[South Slope]
The powdery snow was nicely groomed not only in South Slope but also in East Slope. I saw some bushes in the upper area but I did not care. Gezan Course and Sunny Valley Course, which are accessible by Gondola, are opening on Dec.19 (Sat).
[East Slope]
HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR and THE CITY BAKERY also started opening for the 2020 season (*at 9 am). Pictured in the center of the fourth photo (as well as in the second photo) are Mr. and Ms. Okada. They run the steakhouse NIKU Masa in Misorano, Hakuba Village. They have take-out meals, including a beefsteak made of red mature meat and a homemade hamburger steak made of coarsely ground beef,
