The rain falling yesterday turned into the snow this morning. Half-pipe was being prepared at Satomi Wakaguri Access Line for “Roots JAM 2018“, which is held from Mar.24 (Sat) to Mar.26 (Mon).

The wet snow was falling heavily and the course was shrouded in the fog, as I reached Rabbit Course. The wet fresh snow and the granular snow was mixed and groomed and nicely soft. There were not many people, however, tracks were being left and the slope started to get rough.

Highway Course was nicely soft as well as Rabbit Course. My skis didn’t run smoothly, however, my edges worked well and I could ski comfortably. The sun started to shine from around 11 a.m..

The sun repeatedly appeared and went behind clouds, while the snow sometimes fell heavily and sometimes lightly. So, the weather was very unpredictable. The ski area was not crowded as it was before the weekend. Some families were enjoying sleighing freely at Satomi Chuo, where a lot of tracks of snow groomer were left.
