It is “Ski Kid’s Day” today and lift tickets are free for elementary school children! (※Preschool children are always free). “I enjoy your reports. I came on a one-day trip with my family and my friend’s family. It’s budget-friendly to have Kid’s Day!”, a lady coming from Kanagawa Prefecture said.

There was no wind and it was not so cold, which was nice, however, it was snowing in earnest. There was 6-7 cm of dry fresh snow on the compacted Route 2. My skis ran well, rather, too fast, on the firm slope.

It was a gloomy day because of the thick clouds overcasting in the sky and the fog. The lower area of Route1 was lit up. When I tried to use the edges on the firm compacted slope, it made a sound. It was ok because the slope was covered with 5 cm of fresh snow, however, I saw many beginners and intermediate skiers/snowboarders going down carefully.

Route 5, 6, 7 and 8 were great this morinig. They were all soft, flat and covered with 5 cm of fresh snow, and I enjoyed making turns, using ski edges. It started snowing heavily around 9:30 and the temperature declined.
