Cortina / ○250cm / Snowy2021.Jan.29

It was snowy as forecast this morning, but the amount of new snow was not much as we expected. The snow started to fall down from midnight and Itadaira Course (Photo) had 15-20cm fresh snow at 9:00 a.m. There were hard bumps of corn snow under the fresh snow, so the edges made sounds every time when I turned.

In spite of this condition, I saw still people went up with No.4 Pair Lift for small powder spots. 2 people from Gifu Pref. (Photo) who snowboarded down from Mt. Hieda Course 3 talked, “The fresh snow is fluffy enough, but the slope was very hard and bumpy under it. However, it looks to be good tomorrow thanks to this good snowfall. We will go back home though…”

The groomed slope of Ippon-matsu Course (Photo) was topped with 10cm fresh snow on the mixed slope of corn and new snow. The slope was hard, but good enough for riding. Ikenota Area was as good as Ippon-matsu Course.

In the lower part of Warabi-daira (Photo), there was 10cm fresh snow at 8:30 a.m. and 15cm at 10:00 a.m. in the off-piste area. 2 people from Otari Village and Omachi City gave me a greeting, “We always check your reports! Tomorrow should be a good day of powdery snow.” It is forecast to keep snowing until tomorrow morning.
